A sweet little book about an autistic woman dealing with peer pressure and society prehistoric unwritten rules. - "Seeing how excited she was, it occurred to me that it wasn't such a stretch to say that contemporary society was still stuck in the Stone Age after all. So the manual for life already existed. It was just that it was already ingrained in everyone's heads, and there wasn't any need to put it in writing. The specific form of what is considered an "ordinary person" had been there all along, unchanged since prehistoric times I finally realized."

As expectativas estavam em alta e, sinceramente, o livro não correspondeu em grande parte. É curto, tem alguns momentos caricatos, mas não é “hilariante”, nem provoca gargalhadas em voz alta. A história é um pouco triste, considerando a realidade da narradora. Pensei que teria uma dose maior de romance - que na realidade foi inexistente. O “interesse amoroso” é machista e surge como um parasita que acaba por trazer alguma utilidade (ainda que momentânea) à narradora. Ponto positivo: adorei o final, achei apropriado e acabou o livro numa nota positiva e, na sua essência, muito bonita e inspiradora.
