William March

William March (1893–1954) nasceu numa família pobre em Mobile, no Alabama. Serviu nos Marines e combateu na Primeira Guerra Mundial, tendo recebido várias condecorações dos governos norte-americano e francês. Arrumou a farda após o conflito, e os horrores que testemunhou inspiraram-no a escrever o seu primeiro romance. Publicaria seis, além de quatro coleções de contos. Morreu vítima de um ataque cardíaco semanas após o lançamento do seu livro mais celebrado, The Bad Seed (Menina Má), um êxito em toda a linha junto do público e da crítica.
