Étienne Balibar

Nascido em 1942, foi membro do PCF até 1981.
Actualmente, é professor de filosofia política na Universidade de Paris-X Nanterre e na Universidade da Califórnia.
Entre outras obras, publicou Lire Le Capital (com L. Althusser, P. Macherey, J. Rancière e R. Establet, 1965), Cinq études du matérialisme historique (1974), Les Frontières de la démocratie (1992), Nous, citoyens d'Europe? Les Frontières, l’État, le peuple (2001).
