Gregory Burke

Gregory Burke nasceu em Dumferline, na Escócia, em 1968. Depois da Universidade, Gregory Burke 'realizou uma série de trabalhos dentro da economia de salário mínimo'. Em 1998, sem conhecer ninguém no meio teatral, enviou para o Traverse Theatre de Edimburgo a peça Rua Gagarin, que viria a ser um dos maiores sucessos de sempre do Festival de Edimburgo, com encenação de John Tiffany em 2001. Seguiu-se-lhe The Straits, que John Tiffany também dirigiu e que se baseia na juventude do autor em Gibraltar durante a Guerra das Malvinas. Em 2006, obteve novo triunfo em Edimburgo com Black Watch, escrita para o National Theatre of Scotland, e dirigida mais uma vez por John Tiffany, tendo sido representada no Reino Unido, Los Angeles e Nova Iorque. As suas peças estão traduzidas para francês, italiano, russo, alemão, espanhol. Outras peças do autor: The Chain Play, Debt, Liar, On Tour, The Party, Occy Eyes, Unsecured e Shellshocked.
