Michael Finkel is the author of the books. Out of This World: The extraordinary story of the last hermit., an international bestseller, and of True Story: Murder, Memory, Mea Culpa, adapted for film in 2015. He wrote for magazines National Geographic, GQ, Rolling Stone, Esquire, Vanity Fair, The Atlantic and The New York Times magazine.
She won, along with photographer John Stanmeyer, the National Magazine Award in the photojournalism category. She lives with her family between Utah and the south of France.
