ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Paulo Marques da Silva

Paulo Marques da Silva (12/12/1966) is a native of Condeixa-a-Nova. He holds a degree in History from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Coimbra and has been studying the cases of several writers and other personalities from the Coimbra region, linked to the opposition to the Estado Novo regime, in the PIDE/DGS archives.
He published the book in 2009. Fernando Namora caught in the clutches of the PIDE – Repression and writers in the Estado Novo regimeIn 2010 he was one of the co-authors of the publication. Condeixa: landscape, memory and history, with the work "Stories" of the opposition in Condeixa during Salazar's time. In 2015, the booklet was published. Deniz Jacinto torn between two passions: theatre and freedom., a selection of documents about the PIDE trial of Manuel Deniz Jacinto. In the same year he also published a short work entitled Fernando Namora and the PIDE: anatomy of a trial, integrated into the book For do you still have the world left?, Fernando Namora Conferences, coordinated by Paulo Archer de Carvalho, a series of five conferences about the writer from Condeixa.
In 2019, she published texts in various catalogs and books and participated in conferences about Fernando Namora. She also published the book The PIDE and its InformantsThe case of Inácio, which portrays the actions of an important informant for the PIDE delegation in Coimbra.
Edited the catalog in September 2020. Fernando Namora, cartoonist which brings together 181 caricatures made by the writer in the university environment.
