Zygmunt Bauman

Zygmunt Bauman nasceu na Polónia, mas mudou-se para Inglaterra em 1971.
É considerado um dos grandes pensadores da modernidade, tendo elaborado o conceito de «liquidez», que seria retomado por ensaístas como Umberto Eco no seu livro póstumo de ensaios.
Foi professor emérito de Sociologia das universidades de Leeds e de Varsóvia, responsável por uma produção intelectual em desenvolvimento que aborda os principais temas contemporâneos.
A sua extensa obra foi sobretudo publicada originalmente na Grã-Bretanha, particularmente difundida em países como França, Estados Unidos, Alemanha, Itália, Espanha, Polónia, Brasil e Japão.
