Isobelle Carmody

Isobelle Carmody começou a escrever Elspeth, a Senhora do Pensamento, o primeiro livro da série As Crónicas de Obernewtyn, quando ainda frequentava o liceu. Continuou a redigi-lo durante a universidade e o estágio em Jornalismo. Os cinco volumes que se seguiram foram publicados com grande êxito e apreço da crítica e a série projectou Isobelle no primeiro plano da literatura fantástica australiana.
Autora de vários romances e contos dirigidos a um público jovem e adulto, Isobelle Carmody foi distinguida com diversos prémios literários, como o CBC Book of the Year Award (1993), em co-autoria, e o Children’s Literature Peace Prize (1994). Venceu sete vezes o Aurealis Awards e seis o ABPA Book Design Awards.
Isobelle partilha o tempo entre a sua casa em Great Ocean Road, na Austrália, e as viagens pelo mundo com a filha e o companheiro.
