ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Nelson DeMille

Nelson Richard DeMille nasceu em Nova Iorque a 23 de agosto de 1943. Depois mudou-se com os pais para Long Island. Fez o secundário na Elmont Memorial High School, onde jogou futebol e praticou atletismo. Esteve três anos na Universidade de Hofstra. Posteriormente ingressou no Exército, onde foi tenente de infantaria, e passou um ano no Vietname como líder de pelotão na First Cavalary Division. Foi condecorado com a Medalha Aérea, a Estrela de Bronze e a Cruz de Bravura do Vietname.
Depois da sua dispensa, DeMille regressou à Universidade de Hofstra, onde se formou em Ciência Política e em História. Tem três filhos, Lauren, Alexander e James, e vive em Long Island.
É membro da American Mensa, do The Authors Guild e ex-presidente do Mystery Writers of America. Também é membro da International Thriller Writers e foi escolhido como ThrillerMaster of the Year 2015.
Tem três doutoramentos honorários: em Letras pela Universidade de Hofstra e pelo Dowling College e em Literatura pela Universidade de Long Island.
