ABOUT THE AUTHOR

James Riordan

James Riordan cresceu durante a I Guerra Mundial, na quinta do seu avô em Portsmouth.
Depois de concluir a escola ele trabalhou como Barman, Empregado de Mesa, Comercial, dançarino e músico em bandas, etc.
Estudou russo durante o tempo em que esteve ao Serviço da RAF, tornando-se, mais tarde, Professor de Estudos Russos na Universidade de Surrey.
O seu primeiro livro infantil Sweet Clarinet foi nomeado para o Whitbread Children's Book Award, e os títulos The Prisoner e When the Guns Fall Silent, são, em parte, baseados na sua própria experiência de guerra. Faleceu em 2012, aos 76 anos de idade.
