SYNOPSIS
Marty ''Trigger'' McCord, is a 12-year-old boy who loves cricket and hates being bullied by Harley Stevens, the star of his school and club cricket teams. Marty lives for the weekend when he can play cricket, watch his Dad''s team play cricket and watch cricket on TV. It is his escape from the bullying he lives with at school.
A chance to help out as an umpire in an interschool cricket match and his evolving friendship with Therana, a new girl at school and a star cricketer of Indian heritage, helps Marty confront his fears and self-doubt.
Umpiring is Marty''s opportunity to overcome the bullying and discover a new way to be involved in cricket, the game he loves. But will the pressure of umpiring and an on-field confrontation with his nemesis Harley Stevens, put paid to his ambitions?
