Ian Mortimer nasceu em Inglaterra em 1967. Doutorado em História pela Universidade de Exeter, tem vários livros publicados sobre História e foi distinguido com vários prémios, como o Winston Graham de ficção histórica ou o Prémio Alexander da Royal Historical Society.
