ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Kotaro Isaka

Kotaro Isaka nasceu em Matsudo, na província de Chiba. Após a licenciatura em Direito na Universidade de Tohoku trabalhou como engenheiro de sistemas. Em 2000, Kotaro Isaka ganha o Shincho Mystery Club Prize pelo seu primeiro romance, Odyubon no Inori, o que o fez decidir tornar-se escritor a tempo inteiro. Em 2002 publicou o seu romance Vida Opulenta (Lush Life), aclamado pela crítica, mas foi Juryoku Piero (2003), o seu romance nomeado para o Prémio Naoki, que lhe trouxe sucesso. A sua obra seguinte, Ahiru to Kamo no Koin Rokka, recebeu o Prémio Yoshikawa Eiji para Novos Escritores. Juryoku Piero (2003), Shinigami no Seido (2005) e Sabaku (2006) foram alguns dos seus livros nomeados para o Prémio Naoki. Foi até hoje o único autor japonês nomeado pelos seus primeiros romances para o Prémio Hon’ya Taisho, que recebeu finalmente com o romance Sono Dourado (Golden Slumber), em 2008. O mesmo título foi o vencedor da 21ª edição do Prémio Yamamoto Shugoroo.
