ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Percival Everett

Percival Everett was born in the United States of America on December 22, 1956. With more than thirty published works, including Telephone (finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2021), So Much Blue and Erasure (adapted to the cinema in 2023 in the film American Fiction, winner of an Oscar for best adapted screenplay), he has received numerous distinctions, including the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award, the Ivan Sandrof Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Book Critics Circle, the Dos Passos Award, the PEN Center USA for Fiction Award and the PEN/Jean Stein Award. His novel The Trees was a finalist for the 2022 Booker Prize, a distinction he received again in 2024, for James, with which he was crowned winner of the National Book Award, the Kirkus Prize and the Carnegie Medal. Percival Everett is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a professor at the University of Southern California.
