Edgar Rice Burroughs

Um dos mais prolíficos e influentes escritores de Ficção Científica, Fantasia e Aventuras de todos os tempos, Edgar Rice Burroughs nasceu em Chicago, EUA, em 1875. Após uma sucessão de empregos falhados, dedicou-se à escrita e em 1911, iniciou a serialização de Under the Moon of Mars, obra que viria a ser conhecida como A Princess of Mars (John Carter), o início da popular série Barsoom que deu origem a mais nove livros. Ao herói John Carter seguiu-se a criação de uma das suas personagens mais famosas, Tarzan. Edgar Rice Burroughs faleceu em 1950.
