ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr.ª Maggie Aderin-Pocock

Maggie Aderin-Pocock estudou no Imperial College de Londres, onde se licenciou em Física em 1990 e doutorou em Engenharia Mecânica. Cientista aeroespacial, é investigadora no Departamento de Física e Astronomia do University College de Londres e participa regularmente em palestras para crianças e jovens, nomeadamente no formato TEDx Talk. É coapresentadora do programa de televisão sobre astronomia na BBC4, The Sky at Night, e de outro, para o público infantil, Mini Stargazing, também na BBC. O seu desejo é inspirar novas gerações de astronautas, engenheiros e cientistas, pela demonstração de que «não é preciso ter um cérebro do tamanho de um pequeno planeta» para compreender, participar e apreciar a ciência.
