ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Teun A. Van Dijk

Teun A. van Dijk was born in 1943 in Naaldwijk, Netherlands.
He studied French Language and Literature at the Free University of Amsterdam and Literary Theory at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Amsterdam, where he received his doctorate in Linguistics. He completed his studies at the universities of Strasbourg, Paris, and Berkeley. He was a professor of Discourse Studies at the University of Amsterdam until 2004.
