Many believers today are wondering if the Church's present lethargic state is the final curtain call for the Church Age. Many of the great revivals of the last three centuries began when a few consecrated Christians desperate for God, disgusted by the spiritual darkness of their time, pleaded with the Lord to do the spectacular. As witnessed in the book of Esther, whenever God’s people are settled in the world, they will lack reverence for Him and devalue the things important to Him. In contrast, the books of Ezra and Nehemiah display the authentic nature of spiritual revival, what necessitates it, and what it produces.
