Western Christianity is largely crippled by virtue of being too Western. The Bible, and the religion it represents, is Ancient Near Eastern, to be precise. It's downright alien to our culture. So we need books like this to explain that vast distance so that we can begin to reclaim what has been abandoned over the centuries and intervening cultural shifts. The Apostles already had their hands full bringing the redemption of Christ to their world, but our world is vastly more trouble than what they faced. In this volume we seek to reestablish what it means to be men and women of faith who address the world in His sacrificial compassion.
