Jacqueline Wilson nasceu em Bath, Inglaterra, a 17 de Dezembro de 1945. Sempre quis ser escritora e com apenas 9 anos escreveu o seu primeiro livro. Começou por trabalhar em editoras e depois lançou-se como jornalista no D.C. Thompson Dundee Scotland, após a publicação do seu primeiro artigo na revista Jackie.
