ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Tony Parsons
É um conceituado jornalista britânico, que se estreia na ficção com o romance «Cenas da Vida de um Pai Solteiro», livro que tem feito, desde a sua publicação, uma fulgurante carreira de vendas na Grã-Bretanha, a ultrapassar os 750 000 de exemplares vendidos. Parsons iniciou-se no jornalismo nos anos 70, no New Musical Express. Foi também na década de 70 que se casou com Julie Burchill, colega e colunista que com Parsons fez furor e exaltou a nova música punk. Foi igualmente o princípio de um divórcio escandaloso e mediático, uma troca de profusos «galhardetes» que deu origem à saga Parsons/Burchill. À semelhança de Harry Silver, Parsons foi abandonado pela mulher após ter cometido adultério, e criou o filho como pai solteiro. Mais tarde, a batalha nos tribunais foi penosa, mas Parsons ganhou a custódia do filho, Robert, hoje com 19 anos. Casado com uma tradutora japonesa, actualmente Tony Parsons é colaborador regular do The Mirror, e já escreveu para publicações como The Face, The Daily Telegraph, The Spectator, assim como para revistas como Marie Claire e a Elle.
