Hans Christian Andersen
Escritor dinamarquês, nascido em 1805 e falecido em 1875, é o autor de contos de fadas mais conhecido mundialmente. Enquanto que as peças de teatro, romances, poemas, livros de viagem e muitas biografias que escreveu só são conhecidos na Dinamarca, os seus "Contos" (1835-1872) encontram-se traduzidos em muitas línguas. Entre os mais famosos destacam-se "O Patinho Feio", "A Sereiazinha" e "A Rainha da Neve".
Mas, Andersen escreveu mais de 156 contos de fadas, autobiografias, romances, peças de teatro, poesia, relatos de viagem. Toda a sua obra estava direcionada tanto para as crianças como para os adultos. As suas criações são ainda hoje fonte de inspiração e de novas reflexões.
