Olaf Stapledon (1886–1950) was a British writer and philosopher, known for his science fiction works. Born in Cheshire, England, he graduated in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of Liverpool. His most famous book, Star Maker (1937), explores cosmic evolution and the existence of other galaxies. Another notable work, Last and First Men (1930) presents an epic vision of humanity's future over millions of years.
