ABOUT THE AUTHOR

D. H. Lawrence

D. H. Lawrence was born in Eastwood, England, on September 11, 1885. He was one of the most important English writers of the first half of the twentieth century, author of a provocative work, which focused on themes such as human relationships, sexuality and the complexity of consciousness, against the backdrop of the growth of the industrial world. Children and Lovers (1913), Women in Love (1920) and Lady Chatterley's Lover (1928) are among his most famous titles, the last of which was banned in the United Kingdom until the 1960s on obscenity charges. Lawrence wrote novels, short stories, poems, essays, travel books, and plays. He died of tuberculosis in France on March 2, 1930.
