Sir Ken Robinson (Liverpool, March 4, 1950 – August 21, 2020) was acclaimed worldwide as an expert in education, creativity, innovation, and human resources. He worked with governments in various countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, with international agencies, and with the most prestigious cultural organizations.
In 1998, he led a commission tasked with analyzing creativity, education, and the economy for the British government. The report -All Our Futures: Creativity, Culture and Education, also known as The Robinson Report It was published in 1999 and immediately acclaimed.
He was a central figure in the creation of a strategy for creative and economic development within the Northern Ireland Peace Process. He was one of four international advisors to the Singaporean government when it planned to become the creative hub of Southeast Asia.
For twelve years he was a professor in the field of education at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom, eventually becoming Professor Emeritus. He has received honorary positions at several other institutions. Open University and the Central School of Speech and Drama; City University of Birmingham, Rhode Island School of Design, Ringling College of Art and Design and Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.
He also received Peabody Medal for their contribution to the field of art and culture in the United States and Benjamin Franklin Medal of the Royal Society of Arts for their contribution to cultural relations between the United Kingdom and the United States.
In 2005 he received recognition from the media. Team, Fortune and CNN as one of the Leading Voices. In 2003 he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to the arts.
He often speaks to audiences around the world (notably his appearances at the 2006 and 2010 TED Conferences) about the creative challenges that education and the business world face in today's economies.
