Laura Lee Guhrke formou-se em Administração de Empresas na Boise State University. Depois de trabalhar sete anos em publicidade, algum tempo como fornecedora de comida e alguns anos a dirigir os escritórios das empresas de construção e desenvolvimento de seus pais, percebe que escrever é bem mais divertido. Vencedora do prestigiante prémio RITA, atribuído pela associação Romance Writers of America a romances históricos, é uma das autoras mais respeitadas deste género.
