ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jenny Schwartz

Jenny Schwartz é uma dramaturga sediada em Nova Iorque. Licenciou-se na Julliard School, tendo recebido uma bolsa no contexto do programa de escrita teatral Lila Acheson Wallace. Fez o mestrado em encenação da Columbia University. A sua peça God’s Ear estreou em Fevereiro de 2007 numa produção New Georges, foi subsequentemente produzida pelo Vineyard Theatre (Off Broadway) na Primavera de 2008 e está publicada na Faber & Faber. As suas peças Intervals e Cause for Alarm integraram o New York International Fringe Festival respectivamente em 1998 e 2002. Recebeu uma bolsa da Fundação Lecomte du Nouy do Lincoln Center. Está actualmente a trabalhar na sua nova peça, Somewhere Fun, uma encomenda do Soho Theatre de Londres e do Soho Rep de Nova Iorque. Tem também uma encomenda do South Coast Repertory e das True Love Productions para escrever um musical com Ethan Lipton. Foi a primeira receptora da bolsa de dramaturgia Dorothy Strelsin concedida pelo Soho Rep e esteve no Sundance Institute no Inverno de 2008. É artista associada da companhia The Civilians e integra os New Dramatists.
