C. S. Forester

Cecil Scott "C.S." Forester is the pseudonym of Cecil Louis Troughton Smith (1899-1966), a British novelist who achieved fame with his stories about historical naval battles. His masterpiece consists of a series of twelve books about Horatio Hornblower, an officer in the British Navy during the Napoleonic Wars. He also became known for the novel The African Queen, adapted for film by John Huston.
