Lytton Strachey

Giles Lytton Strachey (1880-1932) foi um dos melhores biógrafos da história da Inglaterra. Formou-se na Universidade de Cambridge, e integrou o grupo intelectual Bloomsbury. Notabilizou-se pelos seus ensaios, críticas literárias e biografias. Publicou Landmarks in French Literature, Eminent Victorians, Elizabeth and Essex, Portraits in Miniature, mas foi com a biografia Queen Victory que alcançou o reconhecimento internacional. Lytton Strachey revolucionou a arte da biografia ao utilizar elementos ficcionais para descrever personagens históricas. Criou uma nova forma de expressão artística, influenciando vários escritores no decorrer do século XX.
