ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Kyril Bonfiglioli

Kyril Bonfiglioli (1928-1985) nasceu em Eastbourne em 1928, filho de mãe inglesa e de pai ítalo-esloveno. Estudou na Universidade de Oxford e, depois de passar cinco anos no exército, enveredou por uma comerciante de arte, a mesma da sua excêntrica criação, Charles Mortdecai. Viveu na Irlanda e em Jersey, onde viria a morrer em 1985.
Esgrimista consumado, bom no manejo de quase todas as armas de fogo e «marido em série» de belas mulheres, Bonfiglioli afirmava ser «abstémio em tudo exceto na bebida, na comida, no tabaco e na conversa», e era «amado e respeitado por todos os que o conheciam superficialmente».
