Cícero

Marco Túlio Cícero, político, orador e escritor romano, nasceu em Arpinum em 106 a.C. e morreu em 43 a.C. , em Caieta. Foi um escritor fecundíssimo.

Lançou os princípios da arte oratória, e nas composições filosóficas criou uma língua latina nova, enriquecendo os seus concidadãos com uma multitude de ideias novas aprendidas dos gregos. Das suas obras salientam-se: Catilinárias, Filípicas, De Senectute, De amicitia.
