Achille Mbembe

A leading figure in postcolonial studies, Achille Mbembe (b. 1957) is a professor of History and Political Science at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and teaches at Duke University in the USA. One of the most prolific and active contemporary thinkers, he has published extensively on African history and politics, exploring themes of power and violence.
