Ivan Illich

Ivan Illich nasceu em Viena, em 1926.
O caminho de Illich para a liberdade confunde-se, a partir de certa altura, com a América Latina, e o México em particular, onde fundou o célebre centro de investigação CIDOC (Centro Intercultural de Documentação).
A sua obra rompe com todos os modelos do pensamento académico.
Não recusando em princípio posições formais na academia, Illich procurou sempre integrar a comunidade de sentido e de sentidos que ele julgava ser o seu lugar natural.
Sobre a nossa época, escreveu que «os projetos do crescimento económico tombam rapidamente em ruínas e nós deveremos aprender a viver no meio dos seus detritos.»
