Ziauddin Yousafzai
Ziauddin Yousafzai is the father of Malala, the youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate. An activist for education and human rights and a teacher, Ziauddin is from the Swat Valley in Pakistan, where, at great personal risk in a context of intense political violence, he peacefully resisted the Taliban's attempts to close schools and restrict individual freedoms. Ziauddin is a co-founder of the Malala Fund and is committed to developing a global movement in defense of girls' right to education. He was awarded a Doctorate in Law by the [relevant authority/organization].
