Yusei Matsui, nasceu a 31 de janeiro de 1979 em Saitama, Japão. É um mangaká conhecido pelas obras "Neuro, supernatural detective" e "Assassination Classroom", este último publicado na conceituada revista Weekly Shonen Jump em 18 volumes, entre 2012 e 2016.

Foi assistente de Yoshio Sawai na criação do manga "Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo".

Foi nomeado para o Prémio Eisner na categoria de Melhor Edição Americana de Material Internacional Ásia, em 2016, com os volumes 2-7 de Assassination Classroom.
