Wilfrid Lupano nasceu em 1971. Formou-se em inglês. Trabalhou durante 15 anos em bares e discotecas noturnas antes de se lançar na escrita. Assinou o seu 1º álbum em 2000 com a Delcourt como argumentista. Em 2011, lançou-se no western com "The Man Who Didn't Like Guns", desenhado por Paul Salomone. Em 2012, com "O Macaco de Hartlepool", desenhado por Jérémie Moreau. Lupano escreveu a sua 1ª história BD em 2013 e com ela ganhou o Prêmio dos Livreiros de BD nesse ano e o Prêmio Château de Cheverny do Rendez-vous de l'Histoire de Blois. Inspirado no seu passado, oferece-nos mais um universo com o thriller "Ma Révérence" em 2013, vencedor do Fauve Polar no Festival de Angoulême 2014. Seguido pela série "Vieux Fourneaux" (Dargaud). Em 2015 com o livro "Un ocean d'amour " (Delcourt) vence o prémio Fnac de Melhor Banda Desenhada 2015.
