Volker Harlan

Volker Harlan é professor de estética e filosofia natural e cofundador da primeira universidade privada alemã, Witten/Herdecke. Estudou teologia, biologia e história da arte, especializando-se em morfologia botânica e teoria da arte ocidental. Amigo próximo de Joseph Beuys, publicou vários livros e ensaios sobre o seu pensamento e obra, dos quais se destaca O que é arte? — Uma conversa com Joseph Beuys.
