Vitali Vitaliev

Vitaliev nasceu em 1954 em Kharkiv, Ucrânia. Formou-se em francês e inglês pela Universidade de Kharkiv, trabalhando como intérprete e tradutor antes de se tornar jornalista em 1981. Trabalhou como correspondente especial da revista Krokodil em Moscovo, onde também participou do programa de Clive James, Saturday Night Clive, como correspondente em Moscovo. A 31 de janeiro de 1990, ele e sua família "desertaram", mudando-se primeiro para Londres e depois fixando residência (e cidadania) na Austrália. Atualmente, está de volta à Inglaterra, tendo vivido e trabalhado por algum tempo em Edimburgo e Dublin.
