Nasceu na Figueira da Foz, em 1947. Licenciada em Filologia Românica, foi professora do Ensino Secundário. Publicou uma dezena de livros infantis. Foi guionista das séries "Rua Sésamo", 1.ª e 3.ª séries, e "Terra Instável". Tem-se dedicado igualmente à investigação histórica. Na área da literatura para a infância e a juventude, ganhou, em 1990, o Prémio Verbo/Semanário e, em 1991, o Prémio Inapa/Centro Nacional da Cultura. Várias das suas obras integram as listas do PNL. Dos títulos que publicou, destacam-se Marilu Micifu (s.d.), Eram Férias e Havia Sol (1990), Mistérios em Tempo de Aulas (1991), Fala Bicho (1992), A Casa da Floresta (1994), Os Donos da Praia (1996), O Gato do Pelo em Pé (1997), A Excursão dos Gambozinos (2001), A Verdadeira Vida da Formiga Rabiga (2001), Gambozinos Marinheiros (2002) e Tempo Maluco (2003).
