Valerie Bowman é uma autora bestseller internacional de romances de época, diferenciados pelos seus diálogos perspicazes, enredos cativantes e heroínas fortes e independentes.

Nasceu em Illinois, nos Estados Unidos, é a mais nova de sete irmãs e cresceu rodeada de romances históricos.
É licenciada em Língua e Literatura Inglesa pelo Smith College e escreveu o seu primeiro romance em 2012.

Os seus livros têm sido muito bem recebidos pela crítica e nomeados para reconhecidos prémios literários, entre os quais o RT Reviewers' Choice, para Melhor Romance Histórico de Estreia, e ainda o Kirkus Prize para ficção.
