Toni Österlund
Toni Österlund has been teaching courses and workshops in algorithm-aided architectural design at the schools of architecture at University of Oulu, Tampere University of Technology and the Aalto University in Helsinki.
Österlund has managed the DigiwoodLab at the University of Oulu, where he is currently finishing his Ph.D. on the design and control methodologies of adaptive lighting.
Österlund has held international lectures and workshops for architects, designers, engineers and mathematicians on algorithmic design.
He is a partner in Geometria Architecture Ltd., an office for architectural design, which also provides expert services to other architects, engineers, constructors and manufacturers in realizing their complex architectural structures and forms, from design to rationalization to fabrication.
Österlund was awarded the 2012 Pietilä Award (Lundén&Österlund) in recognition of the work done in reforming Finnish architecture, and the 2014 Bryggman prize by the Finnish Association of Architects (SAFA).
