Tolonen Tuutikki
Tuutikki Tolonen (b. 1975, Finland) is the prolific author of several children's books, plays and academic articles. In addition, she is a Creative Writing teacher and has worked as a journalist and editor at Vinski, a Finnish literary magazine dedicated to younger audiences. The inspiration to write My Nanny is a Monster, which became the inaugural volume of a globally acclaimed trilogy, came to her during a family breakfast. According to her, it was her son Leo, who was 6 years old at the time, who said: "Yesterday I heard on the radio that all mothers go on vacation and that some monsters come to replace them". For this book, Tuutikki Tolonen received the Arvid Lydecken Prize, an award given annually to the best children's book published in the Finnish language.
