Tibet (1931-2010) iniciou-se muito jovem como desenhador. Com apenas 16 anos, entra para os estúdios da Disney em Bruxelas, colaborando na edição local do Journal de Mickey. Contudo, Tibet sonha com o estilo "linha clara" (Tintin tinha embalado a sua infância) e mal se lhe apresenta a oportunidade de ser maquetista na revista Tintin ele não hesita. Aprendeu pacientemente à sombra de grandes mestres como Hergé, Laudy e Jacobs, tendo o reconhecimento chegado em 1952, quando lhe é encomendada uma série animalista. Ele opta pelo ambiente do Faroeste americano e cria Chick Bill, o cowboy que vagueia pela pradaria, cantando. Rapidamente o seu herói torna-se humano e obtém um grande sucesso. Sucesso a que, aliás, é preciso acrescentar o de Ric Hochet, que ele cria em 1955 com Duchâteau. A sua morte, a 3 de Janeiro de 2010, deixa órfãos todos os amantes da BD.
