The Five Lesbian Brothers

Há mais de trinta anos que as Five Lesbian Brothers, vencedoras dos Obie Awards, são conhecidas por criarem teatro lésbico que provoca as massas, através da belíssima arte feminista da colaboração. As Brothers (Maureen Angelos, Babs Davy, Dominique Dibbell, Peg Healy e Lisa Kron) emergiram do seio do WOW Café Theater, no bairro nova iorquino do East Village, em 1989, e durante o auge do seu percurso teatral apresentaram produções na Off e na Off-Off-Broadway, fazendo também várias digressões pelo glamoroso circuito de teatro e performance queer e queer friendly que floresceu na década de 1990. Hoje em dia, as peças das Brothers constituem uma parte vibrante do cânone teatral LGBTQ e provocam novos públicos através de dezenas de espetáculos que foram e continuam a ser encenados por companhias intrépidas, mal comportadas e dedicadas ao humor, um pouco por todo o mundo.
