Foi advogada penalista em Paris. Hoje, vive entre a Alemanha, Londres e Nova Iorque. Os Filhos dos Nazis é o seu primeiro livro. De origem russa, francesa e alemã, o seu avô materno foi oficial da Força Aérea Alemã no tempo do nazismo. Sempre se recusou a falar sobre esse período negro. Foi uma das razões para a autora escrever este livro, e assim procurar compreender as implicações presentes deste passado negro.
