Tamsyn Muir é uma autora de terror, fantasia e ficção científica, tendo sido nomeada para os prémios Nebula, Shirley Jackson, World Fantasy e Eugie Foster Memorial pelos seus contos. De nacionalidade neozelandesa («Kiwi»), viveu a maior parte da sua vida em Howick, na Nova Zelândia, tendo também passado temporadas em Waiuku e no centro de Wellington.
Atualmente, vive e trabalha em Oxford, no Reino Unido. Gideon, a Nona Cavaleira é o seu primeiro livro.
