Susette Gontard

Susette Gontard (nome de solteira Borkenstein), nascida em 1769, foi uma mulher da alta sociedade alemã. Conheceu Friedrich Hölderlin em sua casa, enquanto professor do seu filho Henry, e com ele manteve uma relação secreta. A sua inteligência e personalidade literária influenciou o segundo volume de Hipérion ou o Eremita da Grécia, inspirando a personagem Diotima. São conhecidas as cartas que o par trocou, publicadas em várias edições. Susette morreu em 1802, vítima de rubéola.
