Susana Alves nasceu em Sobreira Formosa, Proença-a-Nova, e cresceu com o avô Júlio e a avó Hermínia. A sua vida profissional foi multifacetada: trabalhou na aviação durante anos, foi atriz, locutora, formadora de teatro e formou-se em Ciências da Comunicação.
Casou e engravidou da Mafalda. Nesse período, engordou 30 quilos. Inconformada por natureza, conheceu a alimentação detox, primeiro com os sumos e depois com as sopas, tornando-se parte da sua vida.
Emagreceu 25 quilos. Esta experiência foi tão importante para si que quis partilhá-la com o mundo, por isso escreveu Sumos Detox e agora Sopas, Saladas e Sobremesas Detox, pois acredita sinceramente que a sua aprendizagem também pode ajudar os outros.
