STUART CAMPBELL é médico e exerceu o cargo de responsável académico do departamento de obstetrícia e ginecologia do King’s College Hospital e da escola médica do St. George’s Hospital, em Londres. É um pioneiro do diagnóstico por ultra-sons e introduziu muitas técnicas novas. Foi presidente da Sociedade Internacional de Ecografia em Obstetrícia e Ginecologia e é editor da publicação periódica médico-científica do mesmo nome. É detentor de várias distinções internacionais, foi professor universitário nos EUA e é membro honorário do American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Actualmente é consultor dos Serviços de Diagnóstico por Ultra-sons e do Centro de Reprodução e Tecnologia Avançada, em Londres.
