Steve Sem-Sandberg
Steve Sem-Sandberg was born in Oslo, Sweden, in 1958. He divides his time between Vienna and Stockholm. In addition to being an award-winning writer, he is a literary critic and translator.
Published in Sweden in 2009, after being considered the literary event of the 2010 Frankfurt Book Fair, The Emperor of Lies It became an international success and was the grand winner of the August-Strindberg Prize (the Swedish equivalent of the Goncourt and Booker prizes).
Starting from a sober writing style punctuated by pure moments of poetry, sometimes vaguely dominating the events of 1942, other times a vibrant melody of emotions, Sem-Sandberg bets, obviously, on literature.
